Audio Content Planning and Production

Our partners provide specific content objectives or help us understand the results they want to achieve. Literacy Bridge Ghana use proposed content objectives to conduct formative research, local resource assessment, literature review, audience identification and segmentation, etc. Based on our baseline, formative and other research findings, we finalize content objectives that address the knowledge, attitudes and practices of the project target audience.

We work with government agencies such as the Ghana Health Service of the various Regional, District and Municipal Directorates, Reginal, Municipal and District Agriculture Development Units, the Departments of Social Welfare, Community Development, Environmental Sanitation and Community Theater Groups such as drama and local singing groups and community influencers to produce our content.

What is user feedback?

User feedback is the questions, ideas, suggestions and observation that the Talking Book audience records onto the device. After listening to messages users sometimes have a question, clarification or suggestion and are offered the opportunity to record their feedback onto the Talking Book under the user feedback category of the Talking Book.

Beneficiaries’ feedback is a critical tool that Literacy Bridge uses for program design and quality improvement. The user feedback recording function of the Talking Book offers users an opportunity to communicate their views on messages they listen to and participate in any content refinement Literacy Bridge implements.

What is the purpose of user feedback processing?

The purpose of user feedback processing is to listen, categorize, and document feedback messages, and report on findings with the purpose of using findings to improve and tailor content for future updates.

User feedback processing presents Literacy Bridge with the opportunity to respond to beneficiaries’ questions, clarifications, suggestions etc. By doing this, we can ensure our program content is responsive to our target audience and meets their needs, addresses identified problems, and nurtures a participatory program approach..

User feedback and partner programs

For interested program partners, user feedback allows partners to hear what Talking Book users are saying about the program; the topics of interest, topics they are struggling with, and other areas of interest and concern for them. In future, it is our intention to make user feedback analysis reports available to our partners. In the interim, we provide an overview of the high-level user feedback themes and samples of feedback messages as requested.

Usage Statistics provides us with quantitative data. Quantitative data allows us to describe a population of individuals, quantify how they vary, and test how certain characteristics might predict another (for instance, testing the relationship between household economic status and education levels). Quantitative data does not allow open ended responses; it instead forces users to select a response category that best fits.

As it applies to Usage Statistics, we are able to determine rates of listening, compare rates across communities, language groups, deployments, and programs. However, we are not able to know (from usage statistics) why people are listening, when they are listening, who is listening, and what they are finding useful, interesting, or sharing with others, what they dislike or have further questions on.
